The system
IKEA METOD as the starting point
METOD is IKEA's modular kitchen system. It's built from carcasses and units in set sizes that combine with each other, so it can handle very different layouts and adapt the kitchen to the space you have.
On top of those carcasses, the system takes fronts, finishes and elements that completely change how the kitchen looks without touching what's behind. IKEA offers its own range to do this.
That's where we come in: METOD is a good base and Harmo adds an extra layer of design and customisation, with fronts and elements we make ourselves and a project designed for your specific space.
What Harmo adds
Customise your IKEA METOD kitchen
You decide which system you want to work with. We make sure the result fits you and your home, not a catalogue.
- 01
Custom fronts
We make made-to-measure fronts and elements so your kitchen doesn't end up looking like a standard configuration. It's the part that changes the end result the most.
- 02
Tailored design
We study your space and how you use it to define the layout: which units, in what order and at what sizes.
- 03
Finishes and details
The customisation extends to the finishes and details of the project, which we decide with you during the design.
- 04
Manufacturing
The custom elements are made in our Gran Canaria workshop.
Two starting points
Already have an IKEA METOD kitchen?
We study your kitchen and tell you what customisation options there are. With the actual layout and measurements in front of us, we see which elements can be customised or replaced, and which are best left as they are.
Starting your kitchen from scratch?
We help you plan the project using IKEA METOD as the modular system: we define the layout with you and take care of the design and the custom elements we make ourselves.

Frequently asked questions
Can you customise an IKEA METOD kitchen?
Yes. We start from METOD as the modular system and add the design, the fronts and the custom elements we make in our workshop, plus the finishes and details we define with you during the project.
Can I customise an IKEA kitchen I already have?
The first step is to study the kitchen you already have. With the actual measurements and layout, we'll tell you what customisation options there are and which elements it would make sense to replace.
Do you work with IKEA METOD?
Yes, it's one of the modular systems we regularly work with.
Do you only work in Gran Canaria?
No. Our workshop is in Gran Canaria, which is where we manufacture, and we offer our services across the Canary Islands.
How much does a custom IKEA kitchen cost?
It depends on the size of the kitchen, the layout and how much is customised. To get an idea, you can check guide prices by layout and size on our kitchens page.
Do I have to buy the IKEA kitchen first?
You don't need to have it sorted before talking to us. Tell us where you are and we'll advise you on how to approach the project and in what order to make the decisions.
